FOUNDER/CEO Amanda Manigault began her beauty career at the age of eleven years old on her front porch in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania as a hair braider. She's a visionary who lived her entire life building a beauty empire brick-by-brick. She opened her 1st beauty salon in her parents basement at the age of eleven years old. Both of her parents only had an 8th grade education, so Amanda became her parents little assistant, reading, writing, handling business matters and figuring things out... she became self-sufficient with a desire to lead others at a very young age.
Her beauty career helped her pay her way through high school and helped her assist her parents with her other five siblings. After graduating high school Amanda pursued cosmetology for licensing and graduated from Empire Beauty School as a cosmetologist and cosmetology instructor. Since that time Amanda has never worked another job outside of beauty! She's a licensed cosmetologist, cosmetology instructor, beauty salon & beauty school owner, beauty advocate, beauty school advisor, beauty product manufacturer and beauty coach. With Amanda's professional beauty & entrepreneurial background, she has been successful with leading her team and working with beauty students and beauty professionals in helping them create success FAST, while living the lifestyle they've always dreamed of...
Since existence Amanda has partnered with her daughter Uniquia and together they trademarked Black Girl Beauty and began establishing themselves as a fast growing beauty engine all across the country. Here at the beauty schools, Amanda's goal is to attract motivated students and provide top notch education and training bar none. Black Girl Beauty & Barber Schools is built using a holistic and timeless experience educational model. Amanda's goal is to reach students right where they're at, regardless to their circumstances and learning styles. She puts special emphasis on kinesthetic learners and the new millennial generation of students, offering asynchronous and synchronous learning experiences that meet the skill sets needed in this evolving world of cosmetology. Another main focus area for Amanda is Black Hair Care. Amanda has been in demand for education, she receives a lot of calls and complaints that students and black salon owners have experienced black stylist graduating from school and not salon ready. Most schools do not take a lot of interest in black hair care, yet their program fees are well over $20,000. Amanda's desire is to touch that area of emphasis by teaching all phases of hair care, while specializing in Black hair care. She desires to educate men, women and all races to experience her learning modules that will be like no other. Her traditional beauty platform are for those who need to be there to receive individual attention and that one-on-one experience. Her virtual beauty educational platform is designed to help the students who are strong, self-motivated and fast paced learners who desire to learn and grow outside of the traditional campus environment. She strives to take the stylist out of the kitchen, bring them off the front porch and into a thriving beauty school atmosphere where they can learn and grow towards the professional salon setting, providing better opportunities for their families.
Through her commitment towards building industry experts, she has thrived in the market with intentions of continuing to drive full force. Driven by her vision to become the leading one-stop beauty circuit and continuously pursue her mission of identifying the best possible opportunities for her students and beauty professionals, assisting them in making smart & prudent decisions. Amanda starts by building her membership association, partnering with salon owners and business professionals who are experts in their industry to provide all the resources, tools and systems needed to maintain success in the beauty industry.
